Biography
Georgia Dahill-Fuchel is a professional dancer and music engineer from New York City, who recently earned a BFA from The George Mason University School of Dance where she earned the Excellence in Choreography Award. Georgia founded Beats Per Movement as a way to combine her love of music creating with her love for dance. She has gotten commissioned by Chris Bloom, Victoria Santaguida, Carlos Martinez, and Easton Nguyen, and has gotten to create music for her own works “X, Why?” and “Dust, Suspended” which were featured as the closing numbers for both the Fall and Spring New dances shows at George Mason University.
Georgia danced in the GMU School of Dance’s Annual Gala in Hope Boykin’s piece entitled, “Running to and Toward,” as well as with Alejandro Cerrudo, understudying an excerpt of his duet, “Silent Ghost.” Georgia was the choreographic assistant to Christopher d’Amboise, for his piece, “Everything is Clapping” where she worked closely with the music studying it and memorizing it. The piece honored his late father, Jacques d’Amboise. This was performed at the Celebration of Life Memorial at City Center.
Prior to attending university, Georgia graduated from the Dance Studio of the world renowned Fiorello LaGuardia High School for Music, Art and the Performing Arts. She studied at Ballet Hispanico for ten years, and within the pre-professional program for eight years, where she received the first Citizenship Award. In the summer of 2022, Georgia went to Austria and danced in the highly recognized Impulstanz Festival where she continued pushing her artistic boundaries and soaked up inspiration from all Europe had to offer. She returned to the states more ready than ever to create music in collaboration with wonderful choreographers. Georgia is just finished a season with the Pa’lante Scholars program at Ballet Hispanico. She is now dancing in the Flamenco company BlackBird Dance!
